The type of therapy I offer is called Humanistic Integrative Counselling. The core assumption in this form of counselling is that our individual capacity for mental well-being is accelerated when we are provided with a safe environment where we are able to develop self-acceptance and reflect on our emotions, attitudes, values and beliefs.
Humanistic integrative therapy uses a number of different theories. I primarily use person-centred, gestalt and transactional analysis to tailor an approach that will help you with the difficulties you are experiencing. Whatever your life-story is, my aim is to provide a warm and non-judgmental space for you to unpack your struggles.
I am conscious that both small and big traumas have an effect our neurological systems, our minds and how we relate to ourselves and each other. With this in mind, my top priority in our sessions is to promote a feeling of safety, so that we can begin to form a trusting relationship. A great deal of evidence shows that a strong and healthy relationship between therapist and client is one of most important aspects in assisting with transformation.
I aim to provide a service that is culturally sensitive and I respect your right to choose to be who you are. My greatest hope is that our collaboration leads to your empowerment.
